Well I have decided to rebuild the 22RE instead of going for the 3.4 swap. I just don't have the money to do it. Since i'm doing a rebuild I wanted to up the horsepower a bit. stock compression is 9.5 i believe. I was thinking of going 10.5 could I go higher? also are there any kits out there that would include upgradeable packages. Such as select your pistons and rods kinda thing? or would I just have to order everything seprate and make my own kit? also has anyone herd anything abotu this company on e-bay?

Also is there anything special i should be aware of when i take the engine to a machine shop to get the tolerances looked at? Thanks for your help

I like EB as well, check the FAQ there are a few links to some good info for you.

+1, Ted and Todd are by far the most affordable, highest quality, and with their parts (master kit, new ported head and oversize SS valves and cam) you will build the most driveable up to 130-140HP 22RE around. Without upping the compression.

You will need an adjustable cam sprocket to correct the cam timing after milling the heads.

But one has to ask, why up the compression? I'd call Ted and follow his formula, he's built thousands of reliable 22REs and other motors and knows what works and what doesn't.
