I went with a Mettalic building. The biggest I could go is 2,400 sq ft. If I went bigger, I would have to put a stand alone fire sprinkler system in.

The county changed the footings if the upright. They required a 4'x4'x4' footing for each upright. They also changed the thickness of the concrete. They required 8" double reinforced concrete.

As Delancy mentioned, all the little things began adding up and there was no way for the local building contractor to foresee these county mandated changes.

The local contractor builds Walmart's and shopping centers for a business. He sells and puts up metal buildings to keep his employees busy between big projects.

D'Animal's shop is awesome!

I travel all of California for work. Think I can stop by and check out your shop sometime?

I have a metal building. I always prefer a metal construction over a wooden one as they are more durable and robust. I got my shop custom made from metal buildings colorado. They have a variety of metal buildings at affordable prices and high quality. The kind of metal shop you're looking for is available there. Do have a look.

Thats exactly what I have been trying to convince my dad to get on board with on our property. Something big enough for us to drive in the ranch equipment to work on and be able to finish out part of it as living quarters.

The lean too also was wifes idea… cheap covered storage, its 20ft wide but again 60ft long…. most time camper & dodge sit under it but from time to time loaded gooseneck does too

That's a great lay out!

Well... We decided to go with a 40x60 metal building from a local supplier. Probably will go with the lean to canopy on side for car lift.
