Almost finished. I have to put the safety chains back on and wire the lights.

Next modification was the cargo area. I have a Roof Top Tent but really tired of beating it up on the trail while it was mounted on the roof.

I utilized the stake pockets so I could remove the carriage it I wanted to.

I added 3 rubber mounts on the cross bars. The rubber mounts will help support the middle and ends of the tent while bouncing down trails.

I wanted to be able to access the cargo so I pinned it on both sides. I can lift and tip from either side. Idea was inspired by Andre Dieselcruiserhead's while checking out his trailer build during cruise MOAB.

p.s......

check the tent for rattlers....;)

Looking good Dan...didn't know you were a camper!

Are we going to see you and this trailer at MOAB this year?

I'm doing a few upgrades on the trailer. I was planning on swapping out the hubs for 6 lug so I can carry less spares. I found in my research that the hubs that are on here are considered "Ag" hubs, as in Agricultural use. The recommended maximum speed for the hubs is 30 mph. Hmmm

So my next thought is to replace the 1 1/2" square axle assy that is 51 1/2" wide with the AG hubs for a more common axle with the Toyota bolt pattern.

I guessed/figured that I could buy an axle assy and bolt it on. I cannot seem to find one. Looks like Dexter can custom make an axle.

Any ideas?
