What external transmission cooler for an FJ62? (1 Viewer)

I'm looking to install a Hayden 679 as well but noticed that it comes with a 11/32" hose. I see you installed the 3/8" hose on the cooler. How's it working? Is it staying on? I'm a little unsure about the 3/8" as it seems to be larger than the included hose. But don't want to install a smaller hose (11/32 ") and limit the oil flow.

The 3/8" hoses have been fine and my trans hasn't overheated since I installed the cooler.

I installed the Hayden and also was very confused about the hose. I actually purchased some 3/8" hoses at O'reilly and then got home to see that they also had the 11/32" writing on them. It seems like people use the interchangeably.

pics below of my install... I had the connections pointing downward, thought it worked the best.

Local Land Cruiser mechanic told me that I should have installed the cooler before the radiator (oil flow wise) since he said it shortens the time the transmission has cold oil. After scratching head on that, I'm going to stick with my setup. I don't really pull trailers on a cold engine and rather maximize the cooling during the hot stages.
