What do you think about the state of this body mount?

Hi all,

A while back i was in a head-on crash in my 80 with a corolla. The corolla was completely written off, the ARB bar saved the truck (or so i thought) from major damage, but it still went for a little holiday at the panel beaters who fixed the panel damage and replaced the ARB bar. They didn't to a wonderful job (panel gap between guard and bonnet is way off and the paint match sucks) but it took forever to get sorted and the insurance company were incredibly painful to deal with so didn't pursue it any further.

However, i have since noticed that the body mounts down the side that was hit are completely bent, to the point that they're rubbing on the frame. This truck does not see anything more serious than a gravel road so this leads me to believe that they were missed by the repairer.

Obviously this isn't right, so wondering if anyone has experienced bending body mounts in any normal situations? Guessing this isn't a normal failure mode and most likely happened in the accident?

Those old body mounts could be replaced based on age alone. However, running it as is is an option.

I was in a similar wreck with an ARB into a Ford Ranger. The 80 front frame horns were both scissored to the left 2".

Friend has a frame rack. Was an easy job for him to pull it back straight.

Is your frame still square? Probably not. Get it checked.
I don't know if it was actually checked, I suspect not, but this is part of my investigation if this was actually checked. The ARB sits about an inch to one side so that might be a clue.

Thanks, yeah they're still solid, but they're not right!

Good to know that it's potentially fixable
