Dropped this bad boy in :)

@splitshot the bummer is that I know who Shotts is, but don't know the context of the obviously inside joke. In reality, I should have just said that I went in unprepared. Regardless of what vehicle I took, it was a poor set of decisions.

I replaced my suddenly near-failed passenger seat motor assembly with a good used unit(s) I bought from another CSC member who parted out an 80 about a year ago.

I still have the drivers seat motor assy waiting in the wings. It still works but getting slower....won't be too long I think.

I replaced the Die Hard Platinum on Sunday. It was 16 months old. It was dead the day after your run. Wouldn't hold a charge at all. Took it back and got the free replacement.
Kinda suprised but my 9 month platinum needs exchanged as well, the local Sears says free exchange tomorrow.

Mine checked out good: alt putting out 49 amps/14,4 volts at both the alt and battery; less than a half amp draw in the system; starter pulling 96 amps (rated 100). All within spec. Even slow recharged the battery last week only to have low battery/ slow crank Monday morning again.

nice battery but this will be a free replacement

Thought my Toyota battery died in my Sequoia. Went out and completely dead. Disconnected the leads and did short charge. Removed the leads to be sure I didn't damage any of the thousand electrical components in the vehicle. Only did a short time on the charger because I didn't want to for get about it. Few days later I connected the leads to see if held the charge. Got a small spark on the negative lead. Vehicle stated with no problem. It was then I notice the dome light way in the back was on.:bang:

Hey! A-Trac has worked for me 73% of the time.

Most people would have say 75% leave it to a engineer to say 73%.

Busy 2 wks for my 80:
-New Alternator -OEM (old one was having more trouble than usual keeping up with headlights, blower, radio)
-New Starter -OEM (the 7K old O'Reilly reman was getting stuck already, needing to be bumped with my shovel to start)
-New VC120 Vato Zone charcoal canister [the last straw was when I vented the tank on an incline while offloading in New Mexico and lost about 5 gallons of fuel. I had already done the charcoal replacement (ala LCP) a year ago, but it still crapped out]
-New Denso O2 sensors (just because… the originals had 185k on them and 23yrs old)
-Picked up another trailer for the 80 to pull: an M416 that is currently lounging in the garage with my other trailer acquisition from only a few wks ago. Going to fix them both up, and then sell one of them.
-Got my Toyota custom name badge : "Coconino"
-Put 1k miles on the Coconino about a wk ago driving from Flagstaff across the Navajo Rez to New Mexico. We camped for 2 nights near Angel's Peak south of Farmington, then at Chaco Canyon for a night. We explored Aztec Ruins, NM, went alien hunting in Dulce, briefly saw the Bisti Badlands, and explored more ruins near Chaco Canyon. What a cool area… highly recommended for anyone interested in the history of the "old ones."

Pic of the badge?
