I saw these empty sockets in my tailgate. Anybody know what these are for? Maybe we can retrofit and make full use of the wiring that's already there...

What year is your truck? With the size of those, I wouldn't be surprised if they're the plugs for the power lift gate that the 19s have and the LX versions have had standard for years?

Some of those aren't empty sockets. They're terminating or jumper blocks. If you take the cap off the blue one for example, you should see that it links several grounding paths. The smaller one looks like a relay or resistor.

I think the first one is an unused connector.

I don't have the electrical manual handy, but it would show what each one of these are.

you are absolutely right. they are not really empty sockets but ready connectors for something.... something i hope we can find out from our brothers who probably have the feature or option that makes use of these lines...

Could be for trailer brake module. I had one installed recently and the connector was there under the dash , made for a nice quick cheap install (pre 200 series apparently did not come pre-wired)

I was in my hatch the other day and have the same connectors. The truck is a 2013. Of note, none of the pins are hot with the key off.

I just finished the lift gate light addition.
