Wow, its been a long time! The internet has been on and off here for sometime now, along with the well, garage, welders, lights, and pretty much anything that has become part of our daily lives
But, since i didnt have mud to waste time on I decided to work on my truck!
First thing i decided to do was my brakes, adn that was a task ill tell you! I have a few problems with the previous owner and heres why;
1st: You do not use gear oil as a supplement for grease
2nd: You use proper seals
3rd: You dont lie to me and tell me there is not one broken bolt besides the one on the hub.
So i now have a broken bolt on the back of my knuckle, where those 2 metal rings hold the seals in. Its been mickey-moused. Overlapped the plate with an old cut up one to apply pressure. Temporary and not very smart but willg et me through! I personally dont want to pull everything to get it tapped because id rather just get a whole assembly to kill two birds with one stone because I also want to replace the shiney silver part between the hub and the lock out (Face) part where the other broken bolt is...
When i put everything back together i noticed my hubs were very difficult to engage/disengage. I wasnt to worried until i realized they wouldnt disengage without driving backwards and then fowards a zillion times! And at times they wouldbt fully enagage and that made the funniest/scariest noise ive heard out of my truck! How do i fix that?
Thanks!
