What a GREAT event!

I just wanted to let everyone with CLC know (and even the other out-of-state groups and individual participants) how much fun we had! As a first-time participant, it was evident how much time and effort you guys put into this event, and it was outstanding as a result........also, y'all made Val feel so welcome, and she had so much fun, that (and I can't really believe it), I think she may now even want a truck of her own! (of course, I see that as an opportunity!) Just a really big thanks from both of us, and WE'RE definitely looking forward to the next events!

(By the way, I have to say how TOTALLY impressed I was this morning: I stayed at the pavilion until 2am this morning [about the time several unnamed people returned there after rolling H A R D all night], yet when Val and I returned to the camp site at about 11:15 to help clean up - FULLY expecting to see everyone just getting up and starting to move around - the WHOLE camp site was, dismantled, completely cleaned up, and every single person was GONE..........unless many of y'all don't sleep and you did all of that after I left at 2, I've never seen a whole group of people roll that hard, yet still get up early enough to do all that it took to get that much work done by that time in the morning.........both Val and I were blown away! You guys ROCK!)

David, I remember my first CRAWL experience four years ago and how Debbie and I were blown away by the event as well. It was then and is still today a awesome time.

With Bodean's military training, we had a 6:30 reveille this morning, which we all ignored and got busy in camp at 8:00AM or so.

Look, I'm in awe of a lot of you guys! I was at the pavilion at 2am (and have the video of the rest of you to prove you were there too), and if y'all got up at 8am to clean up / pack up - after rolling HARD all night, mind you - I'm, well............I'm just impressed!

P.S., Debbie, Val's already been on MUD/Craigslist/eBay looking for something to drive.............

For those that don't know me I had a long ass drive going and coming from this event. It was kind of 12-16 hrs drive, since I had to go pick up cousin Loui to San Antonio.

Coming back was fun, we left around 6:00pm Saturday. ..and no we did not stay for dinner or the raffle.

Loui(still in college) had to meet with a study group on Sunday, so we had leave early.

Loui drove all night to San Antonio. The guy though he was a truck driver, calling people late at night and early in the mornig, and yes even that old girlfrien that went to look for him to Katemcy back in 07. He was having energy drinkings and driving.

We arrived to his house around 5:45am. After that I continue to Brownsville and arrived Sunday at noon.


...Even the dodge, tow truck, did great!

On Wednesday before I left, I almost loose an axel shaft w/ tire and everything. Truck got fixed and I left Wednesday night at 8:00pm and arrived at the park on Thursday at 1:00pm

...And Hell we'll do it again! This even was top noch, the park, the band, and the people

I HAD A BLAST! I know the rain was kinda hard on some folks and I'm sorry for the problems they encountered but very impressed that it didn't seem to dampen the spirits at all. And, as expected, a couple of the White Trash bunch had to show the rest of us how to make the most out of a bad situation! (Rub-a-dud-dub, three men in a tub). The trails were extremely wet but supprisingly wheelable and the water cascading down the rocks was incredibly beautiful. I couldn't stay out of the creek trail off of the pond road!

As always, the Cottonland Crew are to be congratulated for hosting another top notch event! The food was great, the entertainment was awesome, the raffle was fantastic, and the fellowship was......well....I just don't have the words. You guys have a way of making the whold world feel welcome and like they are part of the family. Thanks!

For me, the only downer for the weekend was to hear the news of Jim A's passing as we were about to run the UA trail. Even so, it lifted my heart to know that he died doing what he loved best and I could almost feel him sitting next to me as we pressed on after our moment of silence and reflection. God Bless you Jim - I bet thay got some awesome trails up there too Bud!

Thanks for the kind words! The morning of the "big rain" I said "man this rain is pissing me off!" as I dried a few wet spots in the tent floor. My 10 year old daughter said come awn Dad it's just part of camping! She's camped a total of 2 times now. That really made me think. It was great to be with my buddies, making new friends and seeing everyone having a good time. Can't wait till next year!
