Hey guys, first time post, correct me if I did anything wrong

I just turned 18 and I know nothing about repairing my 80 series, it's got around 340k miles, and it's making a strange vibrating coming somewhere from the front end on the passenger side. I've done some research on this website and I can't find anything, some similar threads said sparkplugs, but from my understanding that is most noticeable when the engine is at lower rpm, on other car forums, people have said engine mounts, but those look fine on my car, one thing that could be the issue is that the exhaust could have something wrong with it. The only work I have done on it recently is replacing the alternator.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Solution
It sounds like something loose. Check for loose panels, muffler parts, missing bolts. you're going to have to get under the car and start gently moving things.
Top of my list of things to check would be steering arm studs, driveshaft u-joints, front wheel bearings or trunion bearings and wheel imbalance.
Most of these can be checked at home with basic tools. Follow the advice here, and we can walk you through everything. First step is to download a factory service manual.

Anything clanking into or loose near the exhaust / heat shields?
I don't think so, the last time I drove it steam was coming off of the bottom of the car, seemingly out of one of the connectors for the exhaust, i had just driven down a unplowed snowy road before that, so I dismissed it as snow melting from the heat of the exhaust pipe.

alright, I looked under there and two metal covers for the exhaust are missing a clamp, it looks like they just rusted out, would that be enough to cause a vibration?

What year and engine?

There are many types of vibration.
One is engine related and will be seen based on an RPM but will not be affected by rolling or moving.

Another type is if it occurs only when rolling.

So first, we need to identify hat you're experiencing.

The fact that you're 18, should mean you are a bit more electronically savvy than most of us, so if you can post a video clip (link it from YT) of what you're experiencing as well as one from under the hood at idle, moving around the engine compartment (slowly), showing the fan, belts, pulleys, then around the alternator and driver's side, then work your way around the passenger side as well as even underneath.

I'm always reluctant to try to be a better engineer than those at Toyota. I imagine Toyota put them there for a reason. What you can do is remove the rusty ones and drive around to see if the vibration stops. Then as soon a possible replace them with nice used ones or new ones.

Someone on Mud has a used set laying around. Ask in the parts section.

Its a 93 and has something like a 1fz-fe engine

I want to compliment you and listening to your truck and paying attention. I've been working on vehicles for about 50 years, ask questions and try to figure things out. There are lots of people both on here and probably in you neighbor hood that are happy to help. I've always been happy to help local kids learn. Then they can train another kid someday. Nobody was born knowing everything.

Show us some pictures, I'd love to see your truck.

uh its not the prettiest, but sure :D

Yes, a 93 will have a 1FZ-FE.

Your exhaust runs down the right side and splits into two catalytic converters then back to one muffler.

The vibration can be because of vacuum leaks allowing unmetered air to enter the engine, exhaust leaks messing with O2 sensors, bad spark plugs or wires, or a rotational issue on the wheels, hubs, axles, wheel bearings, or driveshafts.

The amount of lift you have can affect vibrations.

Everything you need to do to your truck has been done by someone here on the forum and we would love to walk you through it to get it all back in line, especially if you're willing to do your own work.

These are NOT "cheap" trucks and they tend to spit out aftermarket parts such as plug wires, caps, rotors, exhaust seals, and others. but sometimes, you need to do what you need to do to get by.

Post some pics and videos and we can get going on helping.

Yes. If enough left intact you can also just buy a new clamp. It's just a compression hose clamp but you need enough of the shield left unrusted at the top lip.
yeah, the shields look unrusted, so it should just be a clamp, can it be a 4 dollar clamp you get at mfa? or does it have to be toyota?
