Asked Trapper about this the other day. Figured I would clean the contact on the coil, but still hasn't changed anything.

When cold the tach won't work at all really. When it warms up a little, the tach will work very slowly. Like its just slow to move through the RPM range. Will stick at 700rpms when shut off, and won't read below 1100rpms when idling, even though I know its idling under that. Any ideas with this? Considering it should just be an electrical current, I honestly just don't know what it could be.

Ideas? Anyone anything similar happen?

Scotty

I'd get another tach opinion.......

Hook up a test tach........

The green connector next to the coil is for the tach. Pull the connector apart and reseat it. See what it looks like and the wiring. Maybe a bad connection.

Did you ever resolve this problem? Mine does the exact same thing and it's really starting to bug me.

I'm over in Fort Collins so maybe it's just northern CO

Yeah. I swapped it out with another one I had. LOL

I think if you pull the gauge cluster apart and pull the tach, you can spray some lube back in there. Its definitely an issue with the pointer sticking, but since I already had the extra one I just put it in.

Same issue here in Montana too- I'm thinking it's the cold weather for some reason. Would love to find an answer though.

Thanks, I was figuring on doing that anyway when I get the LEDs in to swap out the dash lights. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some super-nifty trick to getting it to work again.
