Sounds like he had something bothering him and it's passed on its own. That's not a bad outcome.

Indeed. Could easily be a bad tooth, discomfort from that can wax and wain. Or he could have had a minor injury that has now healed up.

He has stopped it almost completely. I don't know what's going on. He's scheduled for his annual next week. I'll keep you posted. He seems fine in every other way.
