Here is the short steel valve stem I use. I'd really like one that is 1/4" shorter.

It comes with grommets for two common valve stem hole sizes. Above the nut you can see the extra grommet for the larger hole size used on many implement and tractor wheels.

These are the "T" patches I use. I guess they are called tire rivets. Tire Rivet Setter Combination Pack, Tires & Supplies - GEMPLER'S They work in the area near the side wall and in the sidewall. Plugs don't hold in those areas.
