Blanca Peak plans changed so I'll be doing an afternoon run closer to the Springs tomorrow afternoon. I'm thinking maybe Schubarth Road or Bull Park. They're in different locations but I haven't done either so it's all the same to me.

Short notice, I know, but I figured I'll post it anyway.

Schubarth is still closed as a result of the the fire. The frost park, bull park offers some great scenery, great place to explore. Allow plenty of time :) I would be in for a run, busy helping a friend roof a house this weekend :(

Thanks for the heads-up, guys. Yesterday's sound system install didn't go as smoothly as planned so I'm not sure I'll make it up there today. If I can get the sound situation sorted, Bull Park looks like the winner.

Trying this again. Anyone up for a Saturday day trip?

Mods, can we change the name of this thread to "weekend run" or something similar.

Ended up taking the fam to Bull Park.

The day started cold and cloudy but we got some sunshine on the way up.

Snow started falling and the wind picked up shortly after this stop.

The trail was slick in some places but I had fun picking interesting lines and making it work. Gorgeous sunshine at the end.

My little one absolutely loved it.

She then decided to get back to her reading while we had lunch at the top. (Her carseat is just out of frame. No, I don't ride around with her free to roam.... like the good old days. ;))

The trail is a bit narrow at places and I got a few brand new CO pinstripes.

Only real damage all day was a hole in my left blinker lens.

Ok, fellas... who's in for next weekend? Or even tomorrow afternoon?

Looks like a good time. What got the turn signal, tree?

Yup. Little pine tree with stubby branches. Probably the same one that gave me a full-length pinstripe. Got a replacement lens on order.

Looks like you're a member of the unofficial "tree club" , welcome ;)

Not only am I the president of the tree club... Haha, no, I have not hit a tree by driving too fast on the ice. It's been so long, I forget who has. Vic started the whole thing on china wall, Leon hit a tree on winding stairs. I'll need a refresher on who else belongs. There were several members.

I have hit lots of rocks and trees. Not very often do I hit another vehicle though. On purpose or by accident.

Speaking of rocks:
On the way back down the trail I looked at the gps for a split second and suddenly the rig stopped and rolled backwards. I thought I was paying good attention to the road but with the narrow trail and low visibility, I somehow missed a ~3ft tall boulder that jutted into the left side of the trail. I got out to take a look and my tire had just crawled up it a bit and then rolled back down. I was idling in 4low and not going very fast at all, but it still surprised me (and everyone else in the truck).

Those big rocks jump out at ya sometimes.
