We'll be running some trails in the Anza / Hemet area of Riverside Country. One or more of the following so far, time permitting:

Upper Coyote Canyon / Santa Rosa Truck Trail / Sawmill Trail

We'll be heading up the 15N, leaving San Diego at 6:30. Making a stop at the Shell station at El Norte and the 15 at 7:30. Anyone making a last minute decision is welcome to meet here.

Sounds good. See if you can pick up or borrow a CB radio if you can. I'll probably need to use mine this time.

I just ordered everything (cb) yesterday. If Thursday doesn't work how about this Saturday?

Room for one more? I'll have to confirm that I can take the day, but its looking a little slow right now.

Sure. All are welcome. Did you ever get the lift and sliders installed?

Do you have a CB radio by any chance?

Sliders are on, as well as a new skid. lift is still sitting in boxes though. I have a CB installed. Looks like I'll probably be good to go for Thursday.

I would be in but we are heading down south... So if you want to follow us to El Rosario, you're more than welcome.
:p

Santa Rosa sounds cool, next time.

My work load this week is gonna be heavy, can't do Thursday. :crybaby:

Eric,

I'm still up for it if you want to go, if we want to postpone till Saturday I can make that work too.

Sorry to hear that, or maybe I am glad to hear. Work is hard to come by these days. We'll do this again for sure.

Yes, still planning on Thursday. Is that still good with you? What time is good to meet? I am thinking 7:00ish somewhere by the 78 and 15. Maybe the Shell at 15 & El Norte? You'll be coming from Encinitas?

I cant get away Thursday. we have people on vacation still making us shorthanded. Thanks for the offer. I would like a rain check though!

Yep I'm in Encinitas, the Shell @ the 15 and el norte works for me, meet at 7:30? I'll have to bang out a couple of emails in the morning before heading out. you've got a PM with my number.

Updated first post.

Glad you guys had a good time and no issues. I'm looking forward to getting out there in the near future.

Eric,

Thanks for a great run and the couple of tugs that I needed to get off the ice on sawmill and the rocks in horse canyon. Going to try to get that lift on soon. Good to know that the armor works the way it is supposed to!

Here's a few of my pics from the run

The turn that defeated our attempt to reach the top of santa rosa via the sawmill trail. It was just completely frozen and there was a significant drop off the side of the mountain if you were to loose traction and slide backwards. We decided to backtrack and go up the other side of the mountain.

Had to back down the tight trail that goes up to that corner

We were probably the first to drive up Santa Rosa truck trail to the summit since the last snowfall and had to break trail on the way up. Made for some white knuckle moments when passing areas where the trail narrowed with a significant drop off at several spots along the way. Here we are following in our own tracks back down the mountain.

Couple of shots of the descent into coyote canyon where we played in horse canyon in the dark for a bit.
