Going same route, using camelcamelcamel I've had multiple opportunities to grab a front pair for around $65 delivered, just more important things on the list right now.
Did you use the supplied WT anchor? Mine have stayed more or less put, but the last car wash *&^^& yanked the anchors out of both mats or actually the carpet. 
I actually kinda prefer the Husky mats and might put them back in up front. Second row has stayed and has saved my bacon a couple of times. Once with a leaking engine coolant gallon jug that decided to leak on the way home from Autozone. I like how big a lip the Husky's have.

I've had mine for a year now and love them, the fit is great and the don't slide around at all.
The anchor that weathertech provide looked a little weak on how it attached to the carpet, So instead of having it just "auger" in and rely on that to hold it I pulled up the carpet a bit and placed a clip off of a hamburger bun bag around the threads on the underside of the carpet to hold it in place.

Finally got tired of my Weathertechs sliding around on the driver side. The little Screw-in anchor kept ripping out of the carpet, I thought I'd try this based on above post using the bread-closer thingy.
I used a piece of old angle strapping and made a "U" shaped backing for the anchor to see it'll I could give it more surface area to secure to the back of the carpet. Time will tell.
I lifted up the carpet and slid my backing into the threaded part that goes through the carpet. Seems much more secure now.

@DARKNESS what is your experience with the 2nd row mats? I think it's time for me to clean up my 2nd row..
I like the fit of my second row better than the front mats . If it wasn't dark I'd get you a pic.
I'm fond of the floor mat retention system that VW and Audi have been using for the last 16 years or so.
It consists of a peg that is attached to the carpet and a matching grommet installed in the mat.
They come in two styles - round and oval. The round grommets fit the round pegs so tight that you damn near need tools to separate the mat from the car. The oval style pegs have a top that rotates to lock the grommet in place (and are only compatible with oval style grommets).
VW sells what they call "Monster Mats" as a dealer accessory - they are similar to Husky's heavy-duty mats in design. I love 'em.
I have a set of round pegs and grommets that i sort of mean to try to install in my cruiser. I never seem to get around to it. They are sold as replacement parts. You can see what i'm talking about here:

The front seats of 1999-up cars have the pegs installed in carpet at the factory, and the screw-in pegs are supplied with kits that include back seat mats. I think if the screw type pegs had a hard time staying put, I could just drill through the head of a round peg and run a countersunk machine screw through a fender washer behind the carpet, and affix an acorn nut on top. Or just run a sheet metal screw down through the peg and through the metal floor.
I agree with @INSANE1. The second row fits better than the front row. Works great in my opinion.

Husky Liners!!! I owned a set for 10yrs in an older truck. They were thoroughly used and held up very well. Went on to the new owner....

I've had fronts and middle sections for a few years now and they have held up great.
Best color choice? Was thinking black but after reading all 19 pages it seems tan is more popular. Rig has the standard greyish/beige/tan leather and "oak" interior. Be nice to see a photo of the black from a little further away if anyone has one (similar to the above photos). I have Cabela's points to blow so I figured I would order the weathertech through them. Also any additional feedback on rear cargo? I emailed weathertech and they said it is "laser fit" but have heard otherwise on MUD. Thanks for any help.
I recently bought a set of front and rear WT mats for my 80. The fronts fit fine, but like many people have said, the driver side likes to slide around. I fixed that by putting down a sheet of tool box drawer liner I got from Home Depot. Works fine now.
The rears did not fit at all due to where my front seat belt anchors to the floor. I believe this a 91-92 problem only. I contacted WT to let them know and sent them pics. They got back to me saying they looked into it more and as it turns out the rear mats will not fit my model of FJ. They said due to lack of demand they had no plans of making any that would fit. Here are pics of the fit issue I have.
