Driving home from a concert the other night (SCI), and pulled over for a water break. Jump back into my 93 4Runner, and no start. No lights either. Couldn't find anything wrong till the tow truck showed. (thanks nameless guys that called em! ) He noticed fan belt was missing. Belt debris all over in the engine compartment, but stopping for the water meant i didn't overheat the 3Vze while running on battery. Traded out the belt, and after starting her up the next day, got that bearing whine from the (i think) fake water pump bearing. Seems like the timing belt must be ok, since it fired right back up, but should i go ahead and do the timing belt and the real water pump inside? Looks like the wires from the serpentine, got caught in the PS pump bearing too.... Am doing a belt/guides on a 22re now, and know it wont be as easy on the Runner.
