So I was poking around d today and noticed my carpet was a little wet. Pulled it up and the the sound deadner whas soaked from in front of the front seats to just behind them. There was enough water and the beginnings of rust that I decided to pull out all the carpet. My plan is to run thick floor mats for now.
Where is the main culprit to look for water in these areas? The door weather stripping?

Well I get water from the windshield. There is part where the stripping shrank and created a gap. Mine is driver side lower. Good luck.

the firewall is a travisty for water intrusion. next is the windshield gasket, next is the drip rails sealer, next is the vents in the fenders...so many thru the wall bolt holes to seal, so many seams where the sealer is dried and cracked...might be best to cover it and wait till spring- you will have stuff apart for a day here and two there for removing old sealer, setting new sealer and allowing cure time before reassembly...
