I got ahold of a great swiss surplus water bladder. 20 liters (5 gals).
Black heavy rubber like material. Plastic spout.

Looks like really high quality stuff (it's Swiss, doh!). Looks extremely durable.

Plus it's black so you can use it as a water heater in the sun. Got piping hot when I tried.

Very very nice.

Sportsman's guide lists them (? mine has different marking) for $10.
2 New Swiss 20 - Liter Water Bladder, Military Surplus, Brand Not Specified at Sportsman's Guide

Omega Man sells: Swiss 5 Gallon Water Bags Bladders! Also 3,500 other Discount Items!
shows them with the same marking mine has.

Probably at some gun shows too, I imagine.

Saw one of these at an army surplus store for $20. Almost got it but wasnt sure how well the rubber would hold up to tearing.

seems very strong, no worry about it tearing from here....

I bought a bunch in 1999 and have used them ever since to store earthquake water. They are great for wash water but have you found a way to get rid of the plastic taste ? I have tried lime juce with no luck.

holy christmas!!! that omega man site SUCKS! someone tell that fool that midi went the way of the jesus horse!

btw, e9999, the link you posted for the obnoxious site doesn't work.

have had the same one for over 10 years, holds up really well, found at some surplus shop

I bought 2 in Moab during the 1st Cruise Moab. Great bags, hang them in the sun during the day and you have water so hot you will need to mix it with cold water to wash dishs, wash up with, etc.
I had one strapped on top of the trailer and it slipped out of the straps at about 65 mph hitting I-10 and slidding across the road into the dirt.
It was scuffed up but still in use. Tough bags. Worth the money for them.

I have that same bag, and have been carrying it off-road for years. It is very good. When I set up camp I just hang it upside down on the end of my bumper for a very convenient water supply. I bought it from Sportsmans Guide.

yup, second link stopped working. Was before. Google will fix ya up!
