Warn M8000: Thoughts?

I am looking at a good deal on a Warn M8000. Any thoughts on this winch and going on an FJ60 ARB bumper?

Pretty sure it will work. But...You will have to space the winch back from the bumper by about 1/2 inch. A friend recently did this and just used a stack of hardened washers. It seems to work fine.

I was looking at one on Ebay, but 4 Wheel Parts sounds like a better deal. I wonder if they have any in stock here in town?

I've got one on my 80 series and it works fine. It's gotten me and others out of many a mess....

I would not hesitate in going out alone with this on my truck.

I haven't checked locally. I was thinking I'd save tax by buying it online, but they're charging tax there too so local would be a little better.

The 8000 seems to be the best bang for the buck overall too. I think my mind is made up on this.

I had a M8000 on the front my HDJ81.
Always got me out of snow when I was stuck.
I never tried it in mud. But snow can be similar.

It was also able to self right my truck when I rolled.
I liked it. So I kept mine. I will put it on my next 12v rig.

I have the new ARB and the M8000 fits with ease infact there is room for more.

Sweet. I can't wait. My ARB should be in on either Monday or Tuesday of next week.

I ran one on a stockish 40 with 33's and accessories for years.. I would call it slightly crappy. Anyway, honestly sort of underpowered, there were was even a time when it was stuck in a mud hole that even with a snatch block, it could not free the vehicle from the hole.. I went with a M12000 this time, night and day difference. It is a good winch but you get what you pay for unfortunately. At that price though, it is definitely the best deal especially versus the cheaper brands.. But you may get only a couple years out of it. After about 5 with mine with occasional but some heavy use, the clutch started intermitantly failing and would cause the winch to make horrible noises...

Anyway, good deal but possibly not a long a real long term winch...

I appreciate the information and opinions. This is not a winch that I will use probably more than twice a year. I am gonna give it a shot and see what happens, but I think it will more than suit my needs. I have read lots of really positive reviews on this thing, and the price is just unbeatable. I'll install it and give y'all my opinion down the road...

I've got the M8000 W/ ARB bumper on my Tacoma. Fit perfectly in this ARB.
Added synthetic cable. I bought mine at Winch Depot last year. No problems.
