Hi all.

I did what I thought I would never do and sold my 92 4x4 and bought a 2008 Double Cab TRD 4x4 ( :

I could not justify having 2 cars/2 insurance plans etc and I really like trucks so..

I had my truck for a long time and the help from this forum helped keep in the excellent condition I thought and others thought it to be.

I really do miss the 22re and the "feel" of the older trucks. The new one is nothing, and I mean nothing, like the older ones. Having 4 seats is completely awesome and the storage space in the new one is just plain nice. But there is no connection for lack of better words. It feels so soft to me LOL Of course, I have been use to 180 round trip commutes in my 92!

I looked for 6 months for a 6 speed manual TRD DC and thought I would never find one and then one popped up 10 miles away at a Ford dealership. They could not sell it LOL!

The 6 speed is so nice although 5th and 6th are really close in gearing. They could have went a little higher in the 6th gearing.

Anyway, so I will not be hangin out as much in the forum as of now. Time to learn another engine/truck etc.

Thank you to everyone who I have come in contact with here. It is a great forum.

I will shoot some pics when we stop having snow/salt on the roads.

Thanks Jerod.

My 22re had 212k miles on it when sold. Never had 1 rebuild and it ran strong-real strong.

I can only hope this 4.0 does the same.

Then again, I am a firm believer in frequent oil changes and maint. I cant help to think that matters in longevity.

Heck, I'd stick to the Pickup Truck section of this forum. If you hang out at some of the other Toyota forums you'll pretty much have to put up with alot of follow-the-leader ignorance and four letter words!!!

^Boo! I wouldn't describe our friends in the other parts of the forum in quite that manner, or tone.

Now what you will get are spammers talking about Tibetan Nuns selling golf clubs and baseball cards so you're sure to reply to their letter from the Nigerian Embassy about your inheritance from your former friends father.

You'll love the DC-4.0-6-speed. I drove one for a week and still am wanting one myself.

Only thing I hated was remembering where they put that damned reverse shift. Go to back up half the time to only stall the thing out going into 6th.

Pics man, pics or it didn't happen! :flipoff2:

Well i guess i cant blame you

these old Toys are slow and rough

i get tired of being passed by garbage trucks, old ladys going to church, bicycles, electric wheelchairs and babies takin their first steps but you gotta love the nostalgia and durability!!! lol

Happy trails and watch that gas pedal ....i hear they stick down!

A pic for you.

It will be raised/leveled a bit after the rear spring tsb is finished and I put on some 5100's on the front. And after those Dunlops wear out, Nittos Terras will replace them. After that, I think I will have the look/feel that I like.

I think you made a good move.
Those Tacos kick ass and the one you got looks great!
Give that truck 20 years and it will start to feel like yer old one did :D

I'd be interesed in learning that truck inside and out like I know these III gens we are always blabbin about.

Ok so dont be a stranger, and at least report back in 10-20 years to give an extended road test review ;)

Yeah, that truck looks sharp!

Thanks for your help over the last couple/few years here (for me, anyway)...good advice, and good luck with the new Taco.

Do you want to swap your buckets for a bench?
