What is the casting number on your F.5 head? I'm pretty sure I have the head you need but want the casting number to verify. $50 plus shipping from the Cincinnati area if I have one.

I don't have the head right now, It's at the machine shop. Can I get a number off the block?

I'll be picking up the head Monday, I get the casting numbers then.
Wayneraintree I'd love a free engine (my 72 FJ's seized) I just don't know how I'd pick it up, I'm probably 9 to 10 hours from you. Unless of course your heading to Rousch

Been diggin around on this for a couple hours (I have a '74 with the wrong head too...). Looks like a genuine F.5 ought to have a 60050 or a 60051 number on the head. You might want to post the block numbers in the 40 section and see if you have something other than the original F.5 under the hood of your truck.
Once you figure out what motor you have then I can tell you if I have a head for it (or if you already have what you need).

Yeah I had the head on my 72 replaced by the dealer back in 1976 and they used the same casting number as my 74. I saw a post from Andrewfarmer and he said that was a non US head number.

My block number is F 526577
I have the oil filter on the passenger side and no oil line to the rocker arm assembly so I'm pretty sure it's a F.5.
It has flat top pistons.
