Actually with this piece I don't think it metters if it's the grey or brown interior. It's the plastic part that supports the environmental controls (levers and A/C switch) and acts as the housing for the light bulb. I put too high wattage of a light bulb in there and mine got quite a bit deformed, causing the positive lead for the light to ground out against the lever bracket and blow my tail light fuse.
