2006 gx470, this winter I left it at my cabin at 9400' in Colorado. Battery died and when I went up in February I pulled the battery out of the car. Now that I'm back for the summer I charged the battery and it is holding voltage. I do plan to replace it in a couple weeks. Now when it's running I get these on the dash: VSC TRAC, VSC OFF, and the slip indicator light. Not getting the ABS or brake light. I did pump the brakes with engine running about 20 times and the ABS and brake light did come on but went back off when I waited a few seconds and pushed the brake once.
I used a Veepeak OBD reader with TorquePro and it showed no codes.
Any suggestions?
I'd like to sell it to buy a used truck which would serve my use better but want to get this fixed first.

Need more advanced scanner to read Toyota specific code. That light is on whenever there is a code active.
OBD fusion can read Toyota specific codes but you would have to buy their OEM specific PID pack.

You can also get a scanner at Harbor Freight for ~$100-ish that will read those codes. My guess is that it's a sensor issue. The scanner should tell you what the problem is.

Autozone will read the codes for you for free. When i had this issue it ended up being my fuel vapor cannister failing an "overnight vapor test".

They cannot read OEM specific codes most of the time. Only generic OBD codes.

Took it on the highway for a 30 mile round trip at about 50-60 mph. Drove great, no missing, no limp mode. Next week I'll take it to town for an oil change and run by Autozone for them to get codes read.
I'm thinking (hoping) since the battery was out of it all winter the ecm might just need miles to reset.

You can also reset it again, which will be more effective at code-clearing than driving it. Having a low-voltage battery for an extended period of time can also cause issues since the GX computers never really "turn off", and they may behave weird under low battery voltage.

I'd suggest hardwiring in a battery tender if you have full-time power at the cabin (I have a hardwired NOCO smart tender on my tractor that is inexpensive and works well). Even if the battery is out of the rig it may go dead from sitting in months in the cold.

Correct. About 60 seconds with the battery disconnected should be enough to clear all stored codes.

I guess I drove enough highway miles, yesterday the lights went off! It's mainly used for driving around my cabin so 20 mph is typically what I drive. But I took it to town a couple times pulling a small trailer. That's about 100 miles round trip.
