Vin plate question?

Does anyone know what year the vin plate moved from the fire wall to the fender?

My 66 is on the fender.

Both of my '65LVs were on the firewall.

All mine are on the firewall. Had a 78 FJ40 at one time with it on the A pillar.

Thanks,one other question if anyone is looking.My 67 wagon that has the vin on the fender,the title says 1969 is the year model.It must be a DMV tipo,or is there a chance that there were some left over after 1967?

Probably a '67 that wasn't sold 'til '69 and registered for the first time that year. My '65LV was registered as a '66 but the title said "Year Make: 1966 ... Year first sold: 1965".
