chrislozadayou will need a longer shackle that will tend to go to the sides[/quote said:If it's made from thicker material with bigger bushings and pins this is not a huge concern. The front of the spring is fixed and it will not easily twist. Longer shackles are often welded in the middle to help stop this as well.
maybe they are trying to reduce the length of the shackle...
My guess is that they are taking readily available material (square tubing) and using it to lift the rear to overcome sagging springs without spending any money.
Head over to the hardcore forum and read the chicago thread.
I'm using fj62 springs in the rear of my 40 too, but I'm not far enough along to bother with pictures of it. Soon.

exactly, when you have no $$$ and your sittin on the bump stops you do what you gotta do.![]()
Hi All:
If you install rear 60 Series leaf springs under the rear of a 40 Series the rear axle will be moved rearward, there is no way around that, short of re-locating the front (fixed) spring hanger farther forward on the frame.
Regards,
Alan
I have been using the loong rear shackles (like 7 inches/175mm pin-to-pin) for awhile
