Thanks Jamie, it was great meeting you and your family. Nice collections of toyotas too :D

Stinks the spacers didnt work on the 80 hubs but wheels and tires look great and customer will be super excited!

^^ Looks nice!

I painted the hub covers that came with my LC wheels yesterday with some silver wheel paint, and put them on. They looked brand new after :)

We will take them off for off-road trips :)

I love the stance with just the .25" spacers -- hopefully the .75 bolt-ons won't make them too ugly:

Down to 4 Toyota's . .one to get rid of after this one. Nice new 35s on there - - new owner and I installed tonight - he brought tires/wheels up from NE GA and towed the old girl home.

So I have been doing a bunch of stupid crap on this since I bought it. Only "stupid" as my wife is not real happy with the purchases.

I now need to get to work.

What Diff Drop are you using? Or are you just fabbing one up?

RHSC - I probably should have asked you first! I didn't install my last one on my 2002.

I purchased Roger Brown's at 4Crawler.com

I have a 1in drop on mine from toy tech

Yeah, well...
I'd been meaning to get that done before I had a chance to blow up a CV joint.
:bang:

Oh crap - I need to rebuild my spare CV axle - - It would prolly work in a pinch as-is, but I have the new boot, etc. Its all wrapped up - prolly greasy as a (insert something). No idea what I am doing with it - hopefully youtube has something :)

I'll bring an extra for us 3rd Gen guys as needed.

Finalized the radios yesterday . .for now. Have CB installed, Kenwood w/ Garmin and picked up a 12v DC charger for my Baofeng 2M HAM. I ordered a rear-view mirror hanger for the CB - hopefully it is OK.

I installed the 3' Firestik - I have on the Yakima rack. I have it set up where it is bolted down for normal driving to/from and then I will loosen and put up in the air for trails. I need a big rubber band for the front portion to tie it down for the road.

Not a huge fan of the whole set up, but its my first "permanent" install with a CB, so .. gotta start somewhere. Previously, its reception has been crap in other locations. I have the spring on it, so if we grab trees, should be OK.

Current Update:

To Do:

1. Body lift: HOPEFULLY TOMORROW - NEED A KID TO HELP ME :)
** gotta remove sway bars - - may do it 4ever . . .

Waiting On:

Going to wait on altering the suspension until I have it all in place as it will need an alignment. ALL THIS STUFF IS TBD:

4. Raise front coils by 1/2" - WAITING ON DIFF DROP FIRST. UP ABOUT 1.5" SO FAR - WILL SHOOT FOR 2"
6. Moving to OME 891s in rear.
8. 1" Diff Drop with raising front up. LIKELY TO WAIT FOR 4 AND 6

Other stuff before LR:

13. PanaVise Vehicle-specific Smart Phone holder. ORDERED, NOT IN YET
14. Budbuilt 1/8" full skid plates. ORDERED, NOT IN YET. REMOVED STOCK PLATES IN PREP. May have to drive to Lenoir to pick up prior to LR.

16. New Hi-Lift with Mount Bolts - MOUNTED BUT DON'T LOVE THE FIT

I had both mine out for a bit, wit the OME setup, it rode flatter with no sway bars than stock with'em. I did put the front back on with some WabFab quick disconnects. The road manners are better with it attached. I haven't hooked the rear back up mainly because I sheared the heads off bolts for the bushing brackets and I haven't had the heart to start drilling yet. You can get a surprising amount of flex out back with out it. Izzy posted a good shot in the last Big Creek thread. Not havin gthe front connected does run much better on the trails, but might just endanger your CVs if John Vee suggests getting all posery and do something silly on a Sunday.

Installed the 3/4" wheel spacers this weekend along with a Panavise Smartphone holder. Had to pull the trim off the center console to do the holder - it attaches to the mounts of the head unit for the 3rd Gen. It also looks too close to the passenger's knees.

Going to leave on the swaybars for LR this weekend - - we are just going to take it easy - - decided to also wait on diff drop and body lift until I have more time. Gotta do the critical things at this point.

Got the Budbuilt belly plates in - -will install them soon.

Still messing around with the battery back-up situation for fridge.

Pic of new spacers - studs seemed long at 1 3/8"??

Got the Budbuild combo belly plates on - nice fit.

I am pretty much done for LR for this year.

Need to do a little tweaking to the 2nd battery tomorrow and load the truck!

The new OME 891 rear springs came in this week.

By end of next weekend we will be doing the following:

1. Install on new rear springs.
2. Diff Drop
3. Add .5 to 1" on the front Coilovers
4. New Lower Ball Joints
5. New outer tie rod ends
6. Alignment

May also do the following soon after or during:

1. 1/2" body lift
2. right half axle rebuild.

Need to make sure we are getting rid of the "popping" sound and dragging on the right front side. Hoping it is not the front differential :( Can't tell, but we noticed it before Logan's Run and had to take it easy at LR this year.

Jacob and I put the rear springs on. Pretty big difference in height. :) We left one trim packer on to help keep preserve the inside the coil bump stop thingy. We also removed the rear sway bar to test it out. I need new links up front and to swap the front links to the back.

We also figured out the front popping sound is the tires rubbing on the inner wheel well. Hopefully getting the front up to 2" of lift will fix that :) Will start the front when he gets off work. I may tinker before he gets home.

Jacob did about half the work this time - - great to have a 17-year-old around the house!

Finished with Avery showing off the new lift:

When I put on the OME all my rubbing went away.
You may want to look into some extended end links. With the lift, I found the stickers were pretty stressed. I've read a few threads on them breaking.
WabFab has a decent set.
Some people hate the guy. I had no problems other than delivery was a bit slow. You could actually fab some pretty easily. Let me know if you want some pics.

Tie Rod End is KICKING MY ARSE today. I've used PB Blaster, heat . . .freaking thing is killing me - - - any hints? I can't back out the keeper nut - - too tight.

EDIT: Whoever did this alignment not only jacked it up (I can tell by the position of the adjustments and the wobble) and did the above!!

What's the issue, that you can't remove the keeper nut or that the tie rod end won't rotate within the tie rod?
