Hey Guys,
I am wondering if anyone knows of a place I can store my Landcruiser, while I am out of town. I am looking for a place that is either underground or covered.

Willing to pay $$ for the the spot.

Dates: After the New Year's Club Run (04 Jan - Mid March) about 2.5 months of storage only.

Thanks, Justin

Yikes! That is pricy for outdoor storage. I did find a place up in Sooke for around $125/month for indoor heated storage and 24hr security. But it would be nice if there was something cheaper and closer to Vic.

The last time I left for work, I got broken into so that is why I am looking for something more secure this time around.

Or I could always tie my rig to a tree as an anti-theft device.......

Storage is insanely expensive around here. I was recently shopping around for motorcycle storage and the cheapest commercial space was like $100/mo - for a motorcycle.

Put an ad in craigslist - that's what I did (and that's how I found a good deal right across the street from my house).

Make friends with someone down in the Songhees development. The place my dad had down there on Paul Kane Pl charged residents $20/month for underground spaces.

No security patrols, however, the Porche and Rolls would likely be broken into first. ;}

You could also contact Jawl Proerties, and ask about the underground of the Wang Building*. That's the one you see on the right of the Pat Bay Hwy just as you're getting into town near the Wal-Mart plaza (across from Saanich City Hall) - the one with all the microwave dishes on the roof. They have a HUGE underground parking lot, and a little while ago they had spaces available. Somebody was renting a bunch of them to store a classic car collection before the auction could be arranged. I think the spaces were $50/mo. at the time. Worth looking into. That underground has a 7' roof, too, wich is a bit more truck friendly than the average underground lot. No on-site security at night, but it is patrolled regularly (Commissionaires).

I don't know if it's till available, as they have renovated the building and have more tenants now.

*heh-heh... Wang Building.

Great recommendation about Jawl properties, the rent has gone up to $85/month but it is in Vic and 25% cheaper then the other spots, plus a secure entry. Thanks :beer:

So if you see my rig being driven after 05 Jan then call the cops because it has been stolen.

One less thing to worry about!

Take the starter out and leave it at home. Perfect anti-theft device. :cool:

I forgot to mention the Jawl is one of the few places that will let you store an unplated vehicle, so if you're going away for a few months you can save some $$$ by returning your plates to ICBC and getting a storage policy - it's like $20/mo or something like that for each $5000 of the vehicle's value.
