Mine is broken. I am trying to find a substitute for it that is less $ than the factory part. Does anyone have a vacuum value required for it to open or a good one sitting around they can hook a vacuum pump up to and get the value from?
I thought about those things. I actually have two goals:
See if there is a low cost option such as the GM Charcoal Canister for our trucks. The stealership wants $83+ for a VCV and allot of the GM VCV valves are less than $10.
If I know the release pressure of the factory VCV then maybe I can find and try one that will open sooner providing better venting and not have adverse effects on how our trucks run at low rpm.
Just wanted to try and see if I can figure this out. Of course the VCV seems to be a dealer only item and they do not have one in stock or I would do it myself. Jon you are handy with a wrench. Want to hook a hand held pump up to yours and get the value for me?
