SOOOooo ...

Compared to Deer Valley is bronco more difficult?

Thanks,
ken

You know I float right! ;p

Ken,
Ive never RUN it before, but I have SEEN it...
From what Ive seen of it, it looks to be a bit harder than deer valley from the perspective that there are no breaks...
It looked to me that it was a SOLID boulder garden, one after another with little or no trail in between.

That's just what Ive SEEN!

Yeah kind of like that. I think an 80 on 33's might have a tough time with the water obstacle before you get into the canyon proper. And pin striping would be a given on the trail in.

I have to agree with Dan. I think it's possibe to do the trail in an 80 but it'd be alot of work and I'd expect some nicks and dings. The fun part of Bronco is that it's short enough to park your rig and watch the rest of the group if you get to the point it's not worth the, err , lived in look.

Rusty Dan I got an update for you. The group that you saw was the crew from Trent Fab up in Tahoe City. They went in on Saturday and the last of the group made it out on Monday morning! Upper Bronco was not kind to them, there was a lot of breakage.

Some of the folks from Shaffer's went through this last weekend. Of the seven vehicles that started, three made it all the way through the trail and only one made the last obstacle without winching. That was Jesse Haines, one of the top competitive rockcrawlers in the country, who recently started to work at Shaffer's. I think that he is enjoying Nevada more than Indiana already. :D

Did either group do a write up anywhere? I couldn't find anything on The Rock Gods site.

I'm tempted to make a special trip up there just to hike the upper canyon.

I'm not surprised he would enjoy Nevada more than Indiana. Indiana is flat, really really flat. With lots and lots of corn. I spent a month there one week.
