are you asking because you watched extreme 4x4?

Failure of a component that isn't absolutely necessary for the operation of the vehicle should not disable the vehicle. To me that makes it a sub fine design.That's cause it's a Chevy... They have a drive shaft that slides in and out of the transfer-case to adjust for the length changing. It's a fine design, but if you blow a drive shaft you can't just take it out and drive in front or rear drive, because you have a giant hole in the T case now...

Yeah i did watch xtreme 4x4 and i know its a totally different truck but i was just unsure if that was the same for a 1995 toyota 4runner. Im also planning on a 4" lift so would i need to extend the shaft front drive shaft?![]()
it's IFS. Lifting IFS means longer CV's A-arms, or spacer on the ball-joints, the diff won't move at all, it's fixed.
