1983 Toyota Land Cruiser, Diesel, 5spd, power steering, 360,000kms. Great 4X4.

4 cyl 3B engine, 25mpg.

Engine strong and running great. Body rusty -truck is ugly but great for off-roading or repainting. Brown w/tan interior, some grey replacement panels (no accident, just less rusty than originals). Lots of work done when purchased incl. rebuilding front end, re-cored radiator, new batteries, muffler, starter etc. Clutch and transmission working great.

Newer Kumho 31" tires, pirelli spare. Tinted windows, cd player and speakers, supra bucket seats, yakima roof rack and feet included.

Must sell, open to offers. Eamil for photos.

And one more ...

Just e-mailed the owner. It's still for sale and has a 5 spd. Too tempting.

!983 Toyota Landcruiser BJ60 with 450000 km. Excellent running order.3B diesel engine. A well cared for, one owner vehicle.

I bought this noew in 83 and used it to commute to Toronto from Kitchener, moved to Kelowna 17 years ago and hardly used it, mostly in the summer. It is a diesel, 3b and runs perfectly. I've done all my own maintenance and a few months ago had the injectors reset.

It has 450,000 k on it and is all original. The engine and transmission has never been touched, injector pump you name it, all has run perfectly since day one, with constant changing of the air and oil filters, plus setting the valves every 36,000 km's

I've moved to whistler and no room for it in our condo. In Ontario we oiled the inside of the panels and they are all in good shape, there is some rust behind the wheel wells, been patched, but otherwise in pretty good shape, a few dents, backed into a post a few months ago, back light casing needs replaced

It is 2400 firm and the vehicle is in whistler. Asking $2400.00.

Interesting about that last one, he obviously knows that it is a good truck and if everything he says is true it can easily go for more money, probably around 4 - 5 (if everything is as perfects as he says). Makes it kind of look like everything is about to die on it. Also 83 still had the 4 speed (last year) did they have 5 speeds or did that only come out for late 83 production (84 VIN numbers).
Sent him an e-mail.

I told him I had posted it here. He said he's had lots of interest. I would love to have a look but there is no way my wife would drive it, as it is a standard and it would have to be for her. It sure would beat the old Tercel she drives now and would be more fun for me to work on. I bet it would even smoke less than the Tercel. Let me know what its like if you go to look at it.
BTW, did any Canadian spec diesel Cruisers come with an auto?

i sold my last 84 bj60 with 400k for $2000 , but it was a rust bucket , p.o. had spent thousands on it mechanicaly , but it was a nasty eyesore . i sold another bj 60 about 6 or 7 years ago i wish id of kept i sold it for 6 grand it had the cleanest frame ever and the body had zero rust it was a one owner truck my friends parents vehicle he had got it from them and blew the head , and it sat for several years , when my dad and i bought a bj60 with 200k and severe body damage and did the swap , at the time when i sold it to the guy i thought i was ripping him off , but now that i have been dealing with rust buckets i think he got a sweet deal .

Also 83 still had the 4 speed (last year) did they have 5 speeds or did that only come out for late 83 production (84 VIN numbers). Sent him an e-mail.

Hi Matt.

My 1983 BJ60 is 5spd and power steering. 1982 was the last year for the 4spd in Canada for either the BJ42 or BJ60.

In 1984 Toyota changed the gear shifter design a little to it does not rattle to much.

Get it...you know you want another one. :D

Thanks for the correction Greg, I sent the gy an e-mail, he's got a couple people coming over on the weekend to look at but is not 100% sure it's gone yet. He said he'll let me know either way. Phil - race you!
Also, how did the TIG course at KMS go, is it worth the time and money or can you learn more from watching American Chopper or Monster Garage.

Not sure when you spoke with him. I pretty much told him last night that I'd meet him at 1:00pm today with cash in hand. I even offered him more than his asking price (of 2,400.00). He emailed me back and said that he had someone looking at it at 9:00am this morning and if they didn't take it, he'd call me. Never heard from him, so I assume it's gone. Could be wrong, I'll fire of an email to him.
GG

I just got an e-mail, it's gone. Oh well, next time right? I'm still looking for that BJ60 with a 13BT, 5 speed, cable lockers and no rust being sold by a guy that has no idea what it is and wants it gone for $2000.00. Should be able to find that some time soon...right?
