Adapter plate will be done this weekend. Pics coming soon....

build it and beat on it, see what breaks.Sounds cool.

Pics of my adapter plate and input shafts. Shafts have either 10 or 32 spline. Next I'm going to work on a Powerglide to SM465 adapter.

Is that aluminum? That's a lot of weight to have an aluminum adapter smooshed between the two. I'd expect to see some problems with those compressing and distorting. Unless those are trial templates...?

You put a crossmember under this plate and another between the second tranny and the t-case so this adapter plate doesn't have all of the weight of the drivetrain hanging from it. Breaking a one inch thick plate of 6061 is the last of my worries.

I don't think it is an issue with it breaking as squishing and deforming over time. I think the aluminum spacers will be leak proned. Crossmembers would help for sure. Why not just make them out of steel? Didn't most of the 420/465 to LC t/case adapters switch to steel for the same reasons? How many crossmembers you thinking of?

Not nit picking, just offer some curoiusity and constructive critism.

put some helicoils in the adapter and there should be no worries...

Don't need 'em. The big elongated holes near the bottom of the adapters are for the nuts/washers. The holes aren't threaded.

Still looking at around 900 for the plates? cool progress.

I'm thinking around $700 for the plate and shaft... Maybe $750 if I supply the grade 8 bolts.

Can't wait to see the results! I've been searching for something like this for some time. First one I've found with a real tranny!

This seems to have died... Sure looked cool though.
