Hey fellas, I've been tinkering with all the fun 4LO gadgetry that comes built into our incredible rigs. There's one capability that I'm intrigued with: Turn Assist (TA). What an amazing feature. Automatically locking the inside rear wheel on low-speed turns to dramatically decrease turning radius?? Freaking awesome. ASFIK, no other vehicle comes with this capability.
I've seen the youtube video that's out there demonstrating this function. I'll tell you this, that video does TA absolutely zero justice. On loose track, the 200 with TA engaged can practically turn a 180 on a *dime. It's nothing short of incredible.
So here's my gripe: the only way to engage is in Crawl Control (CC). What a bummer. Really. I love the feature, but I hate having to go through multiple steps (stopping, 4LO, CC, then TA) to engage it. I realize that the safety minded engineers at Mr. T probably did this to keep guys like me from power sliding through corners at high speed...but there's gotta be a way to make this incredible capability more usable. I can envision TA active in 4LO, open center diff, *without CC engaged at speeds under 5-10mph being ideal.
Has anyone "hacked" this feature to make it more usable? Anyone using this feature regularly out on the trail? Under what situations? Thanks guys
