Ok,sounds reasonable...if you go too small a turbo to eliminate lag then you miss out further up the rev range .... guess there's pro's and con's with all this. Mind you, most of my logic here is dealing with drag car's where 10ths of seconds count. A cruiser wouldnt be too quick down the quarter im guessing :) :) :)

maybe we should be running twin turbo's!!! small one to elimininate lag and a bigger one that boosts like a mofo at about 1500 rpm!.No mountain would be too big!

Now you are thinkin ;)

You can go with 2 stage turbo, one little to get turbo power at low rpm, and other one ( more bigger ) to use al high rpm .. :D

that's pretty much a squential turbo system, like the one found in the RX7 (FD), but i don't really know why these setups don't work that well, maybe is because the manifold becomes too restrictive at high boost levels.

Yeah, turbo lag is not something that big on an engine that perhaps it's redline is about 4K rpm and the boost pretty much spins since idle, but yeah, turbo lag exist and it's worst in some cases.

Talk about a civic that runs 600 WHP and it's a 1.8, the turbo is huge, and starts to spin at around 4k to 5k rpm. NOW THAT'S LAG!

EDIT: twin turbo setups (as in two turbos) are good when you have a higher (higher than 4K rpm) redline and you want mid power, but if you want all out redline power the single turbo will be more powerfull. Think about the supras that are converted to single turbo (HKS has this kit). That might explain why the SUPRA is a dyno queen.

KKK makes a kit for 3B engines that star pushing strong at 1500 rpm .. at 1200 rpm you have 6 PSI at 2000 you have 8 PSI an on top at 3000 you have 10 PSI of boost. I thought is a real good turboi secuence, with a little short turbo lag range.

Do you know how much psi a stock turbo on a 12H-T produces?.How hard is it to fit a boost gauge?

does anyone out there make a turbo kit? or even a super charger for 2f landcruiser motors?

Laters
the only "kit" or 2F's was made in AU a long time ago.

I just happen to have one :)
