'85 mostly stock fj60, single din car stero receiver, Aiwa brand CDC-X207 installed aprox 2001 by PO.
Problem: Will not readily accept any CD, and when it does, will not eject. And when it does accept the CD, will not play. Maybe 1 time out of 100 will it actually play...got it to work twice yesterday...but only after fiddling & manually moving some of the parts.
I've got the unit still connected but out of the dash & in my lap.
What I've done: Taken the top off to gain a bit better access, not much help but I can see inside a little. CRC sprayed the plug in connections, small amount of lite compressed air. Am a bit apprehensive about trying to get to the drive motor...a whole bunch of screws, really small springs etc. that I know I will lose...but will do so if someone thinks I have no other option.
I do my own vehicle repairs, but with this stuff I may as well try to make a watch with some angle iron & a welder. Appreciate any help.
EDIT : Worked right for years, this is a recent problem that I am just now addressing.
