I have a cadillac alternator that i am trying to put on my 1993 toyota pickup. it bolts on fairly easily but im not sure what the wires are for both the alternator and the wires from the wiring harness in the truck. the plug in the larger alternator is a 3 prong just like the toyota alternator. in the plug it contains one wire that is larger than the others which i am told maybe be for charging the electrical system, for example powering the fuse block.. the other two wire could be for a guage and engaging the alternator, im not sure. i also need to know what each color wire on the stock plug mean or do. thank you

ToyotaNick; My guess is the Caddy alt. wires the same as Chevy alts. Our V8 instruction manual shows how to wire three different kinds of GM alternators into the Toy during an engine swap, one of those scenarios is probably going to be right for you. The older 2 wire 10-SI type is the easiest to wire. The newer CS-130's are trickier because one wrong wire hook-up fries the alt. almost instantaneously. PM me and let me know if your alt has a four pin plug-in, lettered S, F, L, and P.

does anyone know what the stock colors on the factory alternator plug are? its on a 1994 toyota ext. pickup, V6 3.0

Don't know the colors your are looking for but a stock Lexus LS400 alternator form the same year as your truck is a direct bolt in, plug in and is over 100 amps.

i knew someone was going to tell me that. yeah thats nice and all but this one was FREE!!!!!
