Im posting this for a friend. he has a 91 toyota pickup V6 auto. turn the key and nothing happens. tried to replace starter nothing. battery is charged. is there a way to check neutral safety switch? is there a wiring diagram on here somewhere? thanks for your help

In the FAQ thread at the beginning of the forum is a link to some FSM manuals online. Toyota Tacoma/ 4Runner/ Tundra/ FJ Cruiser Factory Service Manual Page

Have you checked all the fuses? The AM1 fuse under the hood is critical. It feeds power to the starter relay, which turns on most of what is needed to start the truck, including energizing the solenoid in the starter motor. Power path. Battery to engine compartment fuse box via 80A fuse. From there to 40A AM1 fuse. Next is the key switch, then the starter relay. Now for an automatic, the power to the park/neutral switch comes from the starter relay. From the park/neutral switch it then goes to the starter solenoid.

As mentioned, it is possible to test the starter by running a wire from the battery positive to the solenoid wire post on the starter. Should have a black wire with yellow stripe hooked up to it.
