My daily has recently started acting up. It was sputtering and almost dying at idle when warmed up. I replaced plugs, cap, rotor and wires. No difference. Checked timing its very advanced right off the marks and then some. When I put it back to 5 degrees its almost shutting off. I put it back where it was and cranked the idle up to drive it for now but I'm not sure what is wrong. Compression is 160 across the engine and it throws no codes. I have a new fuel filter to go in but I doubt that will fix it either. Any ideas? Its a 94 DLX with the 22RE by the way.

Does it idle ok while cold? I'd definitely change the fuel filter, they are overlooked on most trucks cause it's a pain to change....

Check the TPS (throttle position sensor) too... I think there's a link in the faq on how to do that.

i would check for an intake leak, set your timing to spec, screw the idle adjustnment screw closed all the way and then back it out 1.5 to 2 turns, and see how it runs, spray carb cleaner around intake boot and intake to find leak.
