Just put FDB on the '81 troopy and have a question about which proportioning valve to use.

Someone recommended using an oem prop valve out of a DB/drum cruiser while others have said that this will not be enough and to use an aftermarket adjustable prop valve.

Has anyone done this swap? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I just did a FDB swap into a '74 FJ40 that should have been a slam-dunk for the stock valve. No dice. Stock valve was TOTALLY WORTHLESS.

I will NOT waste my customer's time and money on a stock valve EVER AGAIN. Adjustable is the only way to go.

I like Downey's kit a lot.;)
