I've been using tremclad dark blue for touch up on my 60 for years now, great stuff!

I actually used tremclad white to repaint my '74 Moto Guzzi Eldorado, years and years ago, the paint lasted a good twenty years of riding. It's tough stuff!

Brining this back from the dead. After seeing We-cruz's paint job, I was inspired to tackle this myself (but on my Jeep Cherokee). I started my paint job a year ago but then got busy with other things and put it off until this summer.

It isn't a cruiser but here is my we-cruz inspired paint job (tremclad blue and white roof):

I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out!

On my 40 I used to touch up the paint throughout the year and once a year give a light spray down with the stuff. I even kept a can on back so if I got a scrape I touch it up even away from home

I did find however it takes a lifetime to cure and even then is still a soft paint that fades quickly and scratches easily. That being said a quick shot of clear coat from tremclad helps solve that. If you haven't done a clear coat I suggest you do

Interesting. I am curious to see how this paint will hold up. I'll bet blue is a bad colour for fade? I painted my lawn furniture with tremclad "recreational white" last year (hvlp gun). It's been outside through a winter and nearly two summers and it looks the same today as when I painted it. On the other hand, I've also painted the roof of another beater with tremclad red (rattle can) and it faded badly after two years (outside 24/7).

Any comments on what to expect in terms of fade? I would imagine that paint fade is inevitable but just how long it takes to fade and how bad the fading looks remains to be seen.

Red is the worst colour for fade. Just observe older red cars in your neighbourhood. Blue, not so bad.

You'll appreciate that white roof in the heat of summer; makes a huge difference on internal heat.

Nice job on the paint!
