I could be wrong, but I tot the Trekker and that other guy's top didn't come off?

er, wasnt made to come off... So making it mate with... awe, nevermind.

As I recall, could be wrong, but the Trekker Hardtop is not removable. The top and bed are all one component joined to the cab, much like a camper that is attached to the back of a cab on a cab chassis style camper conversion. Could be wrong, but the Trekker conversion was built by Winnebago or one of the camper manufacturing companies in business at the time in partnership with Toyota.

Having owned a 4Runner with a removable top and seeing Trekkers up close there is a noticable size difference, even if you could remove the Trekker top, it would not fit.

$3,700? God... I hate you...

Over at 4x4wire.com is a guy who does allot with Trekkers. He even has a site dedicated to them and does restorations on them. My brain being a sieve, doesn't remember his handle.

BTW: Trekker is the Winnebago version. The ones from the other two companies were called different names. The Winnebago version was judged best and served as the impetus/prototype for the original 4runner.

I have an 81 trekker, got it from my uncle who bought it in 81. The top comes off after a lot of work, removing rivets, screws, bolts and lots and lots of glue. It really wasn't meant to come off. I don't believe that putting a trekker top on a 4runner would be a direct or even easy swap. Plus the trekker tops are kinda flimsy.
