It doesn't look great but this was the most reliable and fun truck I have ever owned. I loaned my truck to a friend and he loved it so much he bought a Toyota himself.

I advertised this on Craigslist and I literally got 20+ parties interested in this truck. Apparently the popular thing to do is to ship this down to Guatemala.

I got a quote of $4000 to repair the cab (by cutting off the entire top and welding a new one on). This price includes a brand new paint job.

I have been offered $1500 for the truck + matching color Leer truck shell. During the time I advertised my truck I learned how desirable this year is. I was told from one buyer that this is the most desirable year as the engine got a lot more complicated the following year.

I am debating if I should just repair it. The truck has about 150k miles but it runs like a champ. What to do what to do. Oh insurance doesn't cover it because I only had basic liability and it was a tree from my own property.

That sucks. Another option is to look for the same truck body and swap it. A 2wd should be the same body.

What a pain, I think you have to do a honest check and calculate buying price - selling =?
if ? is a big number you might try to repair yourself, it all seems to much time and money but if chassis is ok you can buy a new cab and force a frame off Restoration?
or make a 4x4 fun quad like wheeler without plates.
My brother used a jack and stuff to bend a body back and it surprised me how he got most damage out of it.
so first choice sell or keep, then pay a lot of do job yourself?

we have a strom now, no wakeboarding and shed collapsed :(

that tree needs to be burned.

A cab swap is really not that difficult. If you could find a rust free donor, it would be much cheaper than the repair bill. It is just a matter of stripping it down, remove bent cab, install new cab and replace all stuff you removed. I've done it a few times, easier than body work.

removable hard top?
