Does anyone know the story on this 4Runner? I ran across it while running up 379 off of Old Stage--looks like it was once a nice 1st gen. Did it belong to someone in our group? Did they make it? It looks pretty bad....

Rumor has it the guy pushed it off the side to avoid losing it in a divorce. Probably just a rumor though. :meh: I have the backplate for the heater controls from this rig in the red pickup. :)

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic 4runner. "Steve" 4runner will be that Yota. Better than it was before. Better. Stronger. Faster....:flipoff2:

I do feel like it's a fallen comrade--a man left behind if you will.

Would it be complete insanity to suggest a "rescue" if only as a public service/environmental thing?

What's the legality on such a project?

Can we "rescue" some parts?

I just got a Hypertherm Powermax 380 Plasma Cutter..:hhmm:

Get me a generator and a portable air tank! Stat!

Saw this as well last week when I was wheeling with some buddies. It's a shame, looked like it was once a nice rig.

An update--last weekend we headed up there with shovels and rakes and implements of destruction to try to get some parts.

Our attempt to gently pull it over ended up rolling it down the mountain another 100 feet :whoops: --which was spectacular but not very productive. Safe to say there aren't many good parts left.
