Hey all,

My Google-Fu has failed me on this one so I'm asking for some help!

My Dilemma:

I need to transport my LX570 from AZ to OH. I have looked into vehicle transport companies but I am leaning away due to the time from pick up to delivery. Additionally, the whole process is rather convoluted and seemingly shady. Though I'm willing to accept any recommendations for vehicle transport companies that are reputable!

I'll be moving us with a 28ft rental truck that should have more than enough beef to handle towing the LX. The problem is, the vehicle is much heavier than the rental companies car haulers allow (I believe a max of 4k lbs).

SO...has anyone successfully towed a 200? Anyone aware of any rental companies that will allow for: a) one way travel b) a trailer rated to handle the weight of our vehicles

I'm not sure flat towing is going to be an option due to AWD, but if anyone has experience with this I'm all ears.

Thanks for your input!

Plus 1 for mud transport with Aaron. They broker the carry, but know how to price for a quick pickup and communicate clearly with transport and buyer.

Plus 1 for Summit Auto Transport. Went from "My LC is going to end up in a container going to an unknown country" -> to peace of mind and a great deal in one call. I had mine shipped from Santa Monica to Seattle. After some shady conversations with other transporters, mentioning LC and Mud to Arron was like some secret password to another dimension. Somewhere there is a thread on flat towing. All the best.

Try Aaron, @Riverrunner of Summit Auto Transport. He's moved quite a few Cruisers around the US, I've only seen positive reviews.

Thanks guys! They make it sound like I make miracles happen when in all actuality I just answer my phone when people call. OP feel free to call me direct at 303-524-9122 if you want to chat about some options.

I just had a 4Runner shipped from Texas to SC for $550 no issues at all. PM me if you want name and number. Don’t want to post on net. I only had the cell phone. Legit company.

I second the importance of a good transport company. A few years I transported a sports car from Southeast US to the Northwest. Somewhat of a disaster. Pickup was late by 2 days; on top of that, the pickup driver left his transport truck at the seller's residence, and actually drove my sports car into town to "run errands." When the seller told me this, I was TICKED off beyond belief; thought the driver was going to drive off with the car. Though the driver did return, he was not authorized to drive the car beyond what is needed for loading/unloading. I was compensated a little bit for this mishap, so definitely OP do find a reputable company that is transparent with good reviews and recommendations.

Most of the 28 foot rental box trucks are pushing it to move themselves and a full box across country, let alone 9k lbs of trailer and cruiser. Have the Cruiser transported if you don't have another driver. Another thought is a trusted friend to drive the cruiser following the box truck and buy them a return flight. Though Flight plus Meals and Fuel for Cruiser and Friend might be as much as shipping it, but it'd never be out of your sight.

Another satisfied Aaron @Riverrunner customer here. LX570 from MO to AZ.
