ive been on this forum long enough, I should know this but can't remember ever seeing it: how tight should the rear trans mounts be? I wasn't sure if I should really squash them down or just have a little tension on them - appreciate it

Theres no need to squash them down. They are designed to be just snug . Thats why there is a castellated nut and cotter pin to lock the nut on . I'm assuming youre talking about the mounts that attach to the bellhousing on an fj40...

Yes, the donuts holding the rear of the engine/ transmission. Thanks - I figured the didn't have to be completely smashed down but fairly snug as there's a lot hanging back there
