The hybrid system does an amazing job of providing enough torque to do about anything in High-Range in the LC 250.
One of the ways to quickly heat up the trans is slow technical terrain in High-Range where the hybrid system is working overtime to get the truck through (doubly hard if it's uphill). Our general rule is that if the terrain would require Low-Range in a non-hybrid vehicle say an 80 series or 100 series, then the LC 250 will do best in low range as well, and that will keep the trans and trans temp happy.
A second way to heat up the trans quickly is to drive up continuous steep and loose terrain where MTS/ATRAC are continuously engaging without the CDL locked. Bonus heat-points if trying to do this in High-Range. The hybrid system makes it feel like it's no problem, but eventually all of that slippage will catch up with ya.
Anyhow, I've spent a fair bit of tie putting the LC 250 through it's paces off-road. It's pretty sweet to have all of that low end torque. It's almost like they gave us a diesel without giving us a diesel.
