Following this closely as I live in Tucson and am planning on towing our Airstream Basecamp (3500# max) up to Ten Sleep Wyoming and into the Bighorn mountains (~9,500') with the wife's LC 250.
I towed a customers 31’ Airstream over 4 significant passes here in B.C. on Monday. Trans temp never went up at all…

Adding another data point, over a year in. Transmission temps still run high on low speed off roading. Usually see 210-230 on uphill climbing in the San Juans of CO. 230F climbing up Imogene on a 55F outside temp day with very light payload. I noticed other vehicles fans roaring, and I can't remember a single time my fan has roared during the high transmission temps (up to 230). My hunch is that the fan isn't kicking on when it needs to be, but that's only a hunch. Only mods are 275/70/18 KO3s, and front runner slimline II rack.

I think it's been mentioned, but wanted to reiterate that the bar graph on the display for trans temp is not linear. It is tracking changes in trans temp and emphasizing an increasing temp. I've had it show the same position at 210F that it does at 232F. All depending on trans temp stable, declining, or increasing.

Okay, we recently made a trip from Tucson, through Utah and into Wyoming pulling our 16’ Airstream Basecamp (~3500 lbs).
I was very impressed with how the LC pulled the trailer through passes as high as 9,800’. I could easily accelerate from 50-60mph going uphill without being all the way into the throttle!
I was closely monitoring all of my temperatures and the only one I saw fluctuate at all was the engine oil temp (and that was a very small fluctuation).
Extremely happy with the rig!
