Does anyone that has removed an a343f have any pointers on getting it out? I am going to be doing this job soon and want to make sure that I do it right but also don't want to have to do a lot on unnecessary stuff. There are threads out there on removing an 80 series trans and a 60 series but I couldn't find one on a 100 series. From the little information I did find it stated that the exhaust had to be unbolted, but from looking at it it doesn't look like it does. Any information from anyone who has done the job is appreciated. Thanks

I've done it. It's not overly difficult, but it is a BIG job.
I did it on my back on the garage floor with just a transmission jack.

here's how i did it:

1. Remove exhaust crossover pipe
2. remove both drive shafts
3. remove transfer case
4. remove engine cooling fan + shroud (beacuse the engine is going to tilt)
5. place transmission jack, remove transmission crossmeber
6. start lowering transmission, unplug transmission harness at back of engine
7. unbolt transmission , you're going to need some really long extensions

This is exactly what I was needing. Thanks

unbolt the torque convertor from the flex plate
make note there is 1 different bolt, can't remember what color it is.
