So i have an 88 runner with a v6. It has the A340h transmission. A while back it started acting up, it wouldn't go into the forward gears until i let it run for 5 min or so to get it warmed up then it would go into gear and shift fine. Reverse has and always has been working fine. Then the truck sat for a couple months and now wont go into forward gears at all. So i drained it, replaced the filter and put new clean ATF in it and it changed nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? Does it sound like i need a rebuild? If so would it be better to do a 5 speed swap? Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks
