I’ll get to the point

Recently completed a head gasket job on my 80 series fzj80. After adjusting the distributor and the throttle position sensor, the car runs an idles fine.

However, when attempting to drive it for the first time, a vehicle seem to bog down a little bit when put into drive then slowly rev to a very high RPM. When I tried to engage reverse, it barely had enough power to even go backwards.

Wanted to see if you guys had any thoughts on what it could be or where I should start to look. I was planning on checking the throttle cable for the transmission.

did you also adjust the "pressure cable", which is also referred to as the kickdown cable. You might be calling this the throttle cable!
